Stop Playing Politics With COVID19 And Ondo State People’s Health
We have credible information that, the Ondo State Ministry Of Health in collaboration with COVID 19 Taxforce has perfected plans to declare the Nine (9) members of the State House of Assembly, who have disassociated themselves from the failed impeachment plot of the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Agboola Ajayi, tested positive for bCOVID19, in a view to forcefully arresting and keeping them in isolation center for phantom treatment.
This unpatriotic move is aimed at conscripting anyone of the Nine (9) patriotic honourable members in order to achieve the constitutionally required two-third of the total votes.
In addition, the Task Force will embark on indiscriminate arrest of people with symptoms of malaria fever to jack up the numbers of people who may have actually contacted the deadly virus so that a total lockdown of the State under the guise of preventing community spread will be inevitable.
Since COVID 19 is a pandemic, it becomes imperative for us to formerly draw the attention of the the World Health Organization, (WHO), Presidential Task Force On COVID19, Federal Ministry Of Health and the Nigeria Center For Discease Control, (NCDC) to intervene in a view to ascertain the actual number of victims for isolation and proper treatment.
We’re therefore, constrained to call on Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN to show empathy and leadership by first resolving the lingering strike action embarked on by the medical practitioners in the state.
Using the outbreak of COVID 19 as a political tool to intimidate presumed political opponents is most undesirable in our dear State.
