AKEREDOLU’S VICTORY : A TESTAMENT TO THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE – Ade Adeogun
The victory of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu at the Supreme Court today is a testament to the will of the people of Ondo state expressed via the plurality of votes of the people in the October 10th gubernatorial election.
One would wonder how the will of the people would have been subverted under the guise of mere technicalities as afforded by our laws. It would have been a total injury to the thumbs of the free people of Ondo state who overwhelmingly voted Aketi as their governor. We thank God that all lawful avenues have been tested without let or hindrance and a winner has truly emerged.
It won’t be out of place to salute the doggedness of all parties in solidifying our democracy. More importantly, it’s time to come together as citizens of Ondo state to make sure we contribute to the development of our dear state. We implore the candidate of the PDP, Mr Eyitayo Jegede SAN, who the governor has always admitted to be a worthy opponent to join hands with the government of the day in order to ensure that Ondo state progresses beyond personal interests.
We congratulate the people of Ondo state, APC family and Governor Akeredolu on the victory. We pray for more greatness in Ondo State as the governor pilots our affairs till 2025.
