JUNE 12 CELEBRATION: WE ARE COMMITTED TO DEEPENING DEMOCRATIC VALUES IN ONDO STATE
Akure – June 13, 2020 The Nat Adetojutelegan Campaign Organisation {NACO} congratulates the good people of Ondo State who are alive to witness yet another moment of sobriety of our nascent democracy day celebration.
In the words of our Principal- the people’s choice who fate has destined to serve as one of the leading gubernatorial aspirant of our great party- All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming election in Ondo State, Dr. Nat Adeojutelegan, he said obviously Nigeria has come to term with democracy being the best alternative that allows active participation of everyone in the society to choose their leaders.
“This day is one of extreme significance in our history as a nation as it marks the return of power to the people. Our uninterrupted democracy since 1999 is an indelible proof of its overwhelming popularity and acceptance, as it has allowed the active participation of everyone in the society in choosing their leaders.”
In the same vein, he commended the courageous step taken by President Muhammadu Buhari for recognizing June 12 as the country official democracy day. He. however enjoined the good people of Ondo State to support his effort to deepen democratic values towards ensuring that our people are major stakeholders in the process of Governance.
“I want to use this opportunity to again commend our President, Muhammadu Buhari for officially recognising June 12 as the nation’s Democracy Day in honour of the Late M.K.O. Abiola, who paid a steep price for this participatory government.”
“In Ondo State, government at all levels will continue to extend the democratic dividend to the greatest majority of our people.”
“I call on all Ondo State people, Nigerians and friends of our dear country to support our effort to deepen democratic values towards ensuring that our people are major stakeholders in the process of Governance.”
“I also use this opportunity to congratulate our people as they are about to witness a new change of government”, he concluded.
