DR. ADEGBENRO BELONGS TO THE CLASS OF GOLD AMONG HUMANS – Hon. Ade Adeogun
In Aristotle’s allegory of metals, the philosopher categorized humans into the classes of Gold, Silver and Bronze. Undoubtedly, Dr Wahab Adegbenro, who was Ondo State Commissioner for Health belongs to the class of Gold because of his indelible contributions to mankind.
We recall with so much gratitude to a man whose life was designed to bring succor to others when one of our constituents battled complications arising from the travails of childbirth some months ago at General Hospital, Ikare Akoko. With just a call from Hon Ade Adeogun, Dr Adegbenro did everything humanly possible to save the life of our constituent and we are grateful to him for such honour.
Death is just a big cheat and its filthy hands shouldn’t have been upon a man whose life manifests selflessness, good nature, generosity and love for all irrespective of social class, ethnicity, politics or religion. Service to humanity was his life.
We remember what Crown Hospital stands for. We remember the legacies of prudence, contentment, absolute trust in the supremacy of Allah and the spirited desire to help others in need even when it’s not convenient. We are consoled in these lofty ideals that Dr Adegbenro would live in our hearts forever.
Our deepest condolence goes to Mrs. Oluwatoyin Adegbenro and other members of Dr. Wahab Adegbenro’s immediate family, the government of Ondo State, Nigeria Medical Association, Muslim community, the people of Ilara Mokin and the All Progressives Congress (APC). Indeed, it is a very tough time for all of us.
We have no doubt that the soul of Dr Adegbenro would be in the finest place possible. We pray that his good works will speak for him in the hereafter. May Allah protect the entire members of his family and grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
