NDDC: Don’t blackmail Tunji-Ojo – our saviour, Niger Delta Youth National Officer, Meduoye warns IMC.
The ex-chairman of Niger Delta Youth Movement (NDYM) in Ondo State, Comrade Meduoye Asiki, has warned the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to stop using a distractive mannerism to destabilise the good intention and unrepentant advocacy of Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Chairman House Committee on NDDC at the green chamber of the National Assembly, for the Niger Delta Region of Ondo State.
Comrade Meduoye, the immediate past National PRO of NDYM and present National Welfare of NDYM, alleged that the impact of IMC has not be felt in the Niger Delta Region of Ondo State since they had been inaugurated. He also alleged that the IMC members are not accessible to the people of the Niger Delta Region, especially people from Ondo State.
While speaking with Coastal Renaissance, Comrade Meduoye noted that Hon. Tunji-Ojo is the only person they can feel his impact, empowerment, contribution and presence.
“The man is not only advocating for the good people of the oil producing areas but also fighting for the interest of the areas in a due course”. Meduoye opined.
‘Since the appointment of Hon. Tunji-Ojo as the Chairman House Committee on NDDC, he has shown to the people that he has uncontrollable passion for the development of oil producing areas. No doubt, his monumental and outstanding involvement and activity has shown to the people that he can represent us well. Also, he has proved to the people that he’s a true Patriot and advocacy of Niger Delta Region and we see him as such. Comrade Meduoye said.
He then warned the IMC and other groups who do not want good thing to happen in the oil producing areas to stop distracting the determination and focus of Hon. Tunji-Ojo to reposition and bring back the fair-share of Ondo State among the Niger Delta States.
Comrade Meduoye described the recent allegations of the IMC against Hon. Tunji-Ojo that he was awarded a road contract by the NDDC as a fallacy, baseless and lack of merit and challenge anyone with a tenable evidence to present it before the public.
“They should not blackmail the young man (Tunji-Ojo), they should not drag his name in the mud. They should not intimidate him for any reason. Of course, no amount of intimidations can deter him from achieving his goal and aim. They should allow him to discharge his constitutional rights and moral responsibilities, knowing full well that Ondo State has been short change at all levels of NDDC’s activities”.
He finally urged Hon. Tunji-Ojo to be more vigilant, productive and tactical in discharging the responsibility bestowed on him and as well advised him to maintain his good name he has built for years and keep his integrity.
