The Executive Chairman of Akoko North West Local Government [ANWLG] Council, Honourable Ayodele Samson Akande, FCA, has officially announced the intention of the current executives and management of the Council to host a befitting 30 Years Anniversary of the LG creation.
The event according to a statement credited to Akande and made available to Journalists stated that because of the significant of that day that all hands are already on deck to give the LG Council a befitting three decades celebration.
The one week event according to Akande is scheduled to hold between Saturday 18th September to 26th Sunday, September, 2021 at Akure and Okeagbe-Akoko respectively.
The A-List event will have in attendance Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, the Governor of Ondo State, as Special Guest of Honour will be leading the State delegation.
While both Honourable Olubunmi Tunji Ojo,MHR representing Akoko North East/West Federal Constituency and Rear Admiral Samuel Ilesanmi Alade (rtd), the Balogun of Akure Kingdom will be attending as Guest of Honour and Fathers of Day respectively.
Other dignitaries who had signified interest to attend includes eminent sons and daughters of the soil, present and former political leaders and public office holders inclusive.
Among the varieties of programmes already lined up for the event includes an Inter-Religious Prayer, Golf Kitty, Colloquium, Youth Summit, Women’s Exhibitions, Cultural Show, Award and Economic Summit
Except the Prelude Event includes a Golf Kitty at Cross Creek Golf Course,Ilado, Akure in the morning while a world Press Conference will hold at the Press Center, Akure in the evening, all other activities will hold at Okeagbe-Akoko.
Akande said that the 30 years Anniversary Celebration is very significant in the life of the Council and the entire people of the local government bearing in mind the enormous development and uncountable transformation that the LG Council has brought to the entire area.
He recounted that the Council has over the years been administered in tandem with the vision of the founding fathers of the LG Council who fought tirelessly for the creation to cater for the yearnings of the people who desire that LG administration must be brought nearer to the grassroots.
“Akoko North West LG has become a cynosure of every eyes amongst the comity of LG Councils established the same time ours was created and the Council has been very fortunate with the arrays of the various administrators that had govern the Council.
Akande, the LG Council Boss opined that “Though our tongues, tribe, political ideologies and religious inclinations may differ but in unity we stand this is the best moment to celebrate our unity as one indivisible people, our progress, and development and cement the future of our LG”
He revealed that the LG has been able to record so much achievement because the people has at all time supported the LG Council in fulfilling the laid down objectives.
And to give ANWLG a befitting 3oth Year Celebration an Anniversary Committee made up of eminent personalities drafted from every section of the LG has been inaugurated and headed by the Vice Chairman, Comrade ( Hon) Anthony Adeyanju.
The Anniversary Committee since its inauguration has been working assiduously round the clock to achieve the mandates they were saddled with that was not limited to overseeing that all activities that will catalysed the successful hosting of the event fly as planned.
Among the programme lined up for the 3oth Years Anniversary with a Prelude events that includes a Golf Kitty at Cross Creek Golf Course, Ilado, Akure in the morning while a world Press Conference will hold at the Press Center, Akure in the evening.
Other events highlighted by Akande to hold at the Council Headquaters at Okeagbe-Akoko will kick-start on Monday,20th September,2021 with a Sanitation Exercise while the Inter Religious Prayers will hold between midday and evening.
On Tuesday 21st September,2021, which was specially the Workers Day is designed for a Public Lecture with a theme for the Colloquium on Collaborating the roles of workers towards the growth and development of 3rd Tier Govt. is the Workers Day.
On Wednesday,22nd and Thursday,23rd, September,2021 the LG Women will have their Public Lecture,Cultural Show, Agriculture and Skill Acquisition Exhibition while the Youths Summit and Secondary School Debates will hold.
On Friday,24th September,2021 is Specially devouted to Jumat Service,at Irun Akoko Central Mosque while a Football Match between two selected Team from the two Constituency’s within the LG will be played in the evening.
On Saturday 25th September,2021 was a day set aside for the highest point of the event heralding 30th Yrs.Celebration is an Economic Summit that will attract the best brains in Nigerian Economic Sector to brainstorm, initiate and proffers workable solutions to poverty eradication and as well raise Fund towards Agricultural Trust Fund, Award Presentation and Gala Night.
The event will be officially wind-down after a Thanksgiving Service at Saint George’s Anglican Church, Okeagbe, Akoko, on Sunday, 26th, September, 2021.
